Group Facilitation Skills Workshop
Time: 9:00am - 4:30pm
May 7, 8 & 9, 2008

$595/person
$550/person for organizations sending 3 or more people

Overview
This workshop was developed for mediators and group facilitators who wish to more effectively plan and manage group problem-solving processes. Three major content areas are covered:

Planning. Strategies for designing agendas which keep group members involved and systematically work toward accomplishing the goals of the process.
Problem Solving. Participants learn a five-step consensus building process and a variety of group activities for working through each stage of the process.
Managing Participation. Workshop participants discuss and practice strategies to manage the most common types of “problem” group members.
The workshop is highly interactive and participatory. Through a series of group discussions, role plays and skills exercises, participants learn and practice the component skills of effective facilitation as well as a problem-solving process for structuring group decision making. On the third day, participants integrate the skills from the workshop by helping to plan and facilitate a simulated decision-making process.
