TAM North Texas Regional Event - Mediation in College and University Settings

Date: March 21, 2017
Sponsor: Texas Association of Mediators
Location: 7920 Beltline Road in Dallas.

Speaker: Karey R. Barnes Conflict exist in every aspect of our day to day lives; public, private and educational sectors. Mediations at colleges and universities are as robust and diverse as the profession itself. In college and university settings, mediations include a variety of audiences and subjects. Participants can include students, staff, and faculty, three diverse groups of parties. Issues that are mediated can include what may be considered expected subjects, but colleges and universities are filled with people who have the same types of conflicts as those outside of the academy. To be effective, mediators must be able to navigate through the mediation process regardless of the various characteristics of the client or the circumstances under which the mediation is convened.
